Summary
Job Description
Working with the Special Effects team in a collaborative environment, this role is responsible for providing direct support for assigned projects in Special Effects and Animation show production with an emphasis on materials, integrated props, and figure finishing. This will include elements of design, development, fabrication, installation, facility interface, operation, maintenance, and documentation in compliance with codes and jurisdictional requirements for Entertainment projects to assure a flawless and successful completion in alignment with creative, financial, and schedule targets.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist SFX management team with oversight of crews including mechanical, electronic, and figure teams during the installation of special effects elements for live shows, atmosphere offerings, and special projects in a themed environment
Directly assist with fit and finish of figures that are integrated with mechanical effect elements
Coordination and dissemination of information between SFX teams and other project teams
Be the point person for coordination of logistics/movement of SFX elements
Create manifests and other documentation in support of tracking new and existing SFX assets
Show quality checks of SFX elements during event operation including follow up requests to applicable staff to address discrepancies and communication on status
May be required to provide own transportation to and from outside vendors and our offsite fabrication facility
Required to work nights/weekends to support event production and operational times in outdoor environments

Qualifications
Qualifications/requirements:
Strong organizational skills with ability to work well with limited information and constant change
Ability to communicate complex designs to a variety of parties who must work collaboratively to achieve the desired result
Strong in-field installation experience in entertainment / theme park environment
Strong awareness of Environmental Safety standards
Working in fast-paced environments with accelerated production schedules
Working knowledge of stage/entertainment practices, equipment, and technologies
Basic understanding of technical drafting
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Confidence to effectively communicate across all lines of business, and with all levels of management
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Theatre, Production, Theme Parks, or related entertainment field
Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted and work in hot environments
Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as required
Desired Characteristics
Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges, and to maintain a consistent focus on priorities with persistent follow-through.
Experience with Theme Park or Haunted Attraction Special Effects and Animated Figures
Knowledge of animatronic figure finishing techniques, including mold making, sculpting, and painting
AutoCAD / 3D modeling experience
Skilled both technically and artistically
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
