A growing sustainable energy company based near Manchester sorts a QA Engineer with five years' experience.
This role would suit an existing QA Engineer with a strong automation background who wants to work on a more diverse, exciting technical portfolio and join a department at an existing phase of growth as the company looks to expand its technical offering.

This Quality Assurance Engineer should have the following skills:
5 years QA experience, in a complex/fast moving industry
Energy/utility industry knowledge would be an advantage, understanding supplier invoicing and charging mechanism would be particularly helpful
Highly analytical
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
High levels of user acceptance testing experience relating to end-to-end workflows rather than single/stand-alone features
Experience of working with & understanding complex business logic
Experience of senior stakeholder management/project management would be advantageous

Quality Assurance Engineer Role Description
Understand & be able to concisely communicate the project requirements and the business processes the development is supporting
Understand the key requirements of the internal stakeholders vs. the customer stakeholders
Review the development tickets in JIRA and the associated acceptance criteria in order to understand the aim of the development
Be able to concisely communicate the aim of the development and demonstrate a testing strategy/approach
Execute all user acceptance testing - utilising manual and automatic tests
Ensure test cases/plans cover the verification of both the back-end logic and front-end functionality
Supplement the user acceptance testing with any additional appropriate forms of testing
Complete test plans in line with all testing activity - in an agreed, clear & consistent format
Provide developer feedback/support throughout the testing process for any areas requiring further attention, rework, bugs found etc.
Creation of the required development tickets in JIRA to address any further development work required ensuring the lead developers are aligned with the approach
Re-executing test cases/plans to confirm any issues are resolved satisfactorily
Creation of collateral to support the release of the new features/functionality to users - including documentation of the business logic and how to use the feature in the front-end
Support the transition with the stakeholders of a new way of working in Fusion
Provide regular, clear & concise progress updates, pro-actively highlighting any impacts to the project plan
