We have the opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic nurse who is required to ensure all patients receive excellent clinical care within Umbrella.
Umbrella delivers a wide range of sexual health services across Birmingham and Solihull providing sexually transmitted infection testing/treatment and contraception.
Umbrella is a new and uniquely comprehensive partnership of local service providers, including community pharmacists, general practitioners, third sector and other partners, NHS Trusts and Birmingham City Council Services.
This post is an exciting role for a registered nurse level 1. Previous experience in sexual health is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, which would involve working late shifts, weekends and also to work at satellite services on a rotational basis.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
Successful candidates will be expected to undertake the following throughout and after completion of their training:
Sexual history taking via telephones and face to face consultations.
Performing clinical examinations and tests of both male and female genitalia.
Giving and explaining negative and positive test results.
Referring patients to members of the multidisciplinary team for example; safeguarding and pharmacy.
Prescribing appropriate contraceptives and treatments for patients presenting with sexual transmitted infections under PGD (Patient Group Directives).
Administering medications prescribed for patients attending clinic.
Performing venepuncture and point of care tests.
Assist with the training and supervision of staff.
All training will be provided to successful applicants.

Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
Experience

Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary NHS care setting (can include student placements within the last 12 months)
Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on- going professional development/ competence
Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team / providing supervision to others
