We are currently seeking an experienced HR Manager/ HR Business Partner to support the regions North-West & South. The ideal candidate should demonstrate successful track record of HR management and Business partnering in a matrix International organization.


How will you make an impact?

As a seasoned HR Business Partner and Manager, you will bring your excellent people management skills to the fore. Your responsibilities will encompass end-to-end HR management across several countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, UK, Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

The key pillars of your work include being an inspiring leader for the regions, managing the HR teams (direct line HR NL, HR Belgium, HR Finland, dotted line HR UK, Spain, Italy, Portugal). Also you will be transforming the HR teams to Business partnering & contributing to the International HR Community as the ambassador for regions North-West and South.


When you sign your first employment contract before September 1st, 2024, you will receive a starting premium of € 1,000.



What will you do?

  • Implement the existing HR vision and strategy within your regions, together with your team. This will encompass all aspects of the employee life-cycle, providing robust HR leadership and direction to the European HR team;
  • Inspire and lead the HR teams in your regions. Transform the HR team towards business partnering;
  • Collaborate with your internal stakeholders such as the executive management and business leaders. Collaborate closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Talent Development, Change Management, PMO, and the Finance team;
  • Drive local compensation and benefits strategies for the North-West and South regions, proactively identifying challenges and opportunities within your client groups;
  • Contribute to the broader (EU) HR teams, working beyond a regional remit;
  • Be known for clear communication and setting data-driven HR goals based on business drivers. Ensure HR addresses underlying people issues to solve business challenges;
  • Provide input on the HR implications of strategic and operational decisions and plans. Partner with the business on change management, organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment;
  • Stay updated on labour market trends regarding reward strategies and the economy, translating these into opportunities and risks for the company;
  • Focus on the digitization and harmonization of processes, systems, and data measurement;
  • Liaise with Talent Acquisition to attract, hire, and retain the right candidates. Identify opportunities to rotate and develop internal talent.

Key attributes include:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Human Resources or related field;
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an HR Manager and HR Business Partner, with expertise in Dutch labor law, demonstrating a proven track record of successfully operating at a senior HR level and thriving in hands-on, transitional environments;
  • Proven coaching experience at senior management level and exceptional influencing skills;
  • Comfortable working in a highly matrixed Intl’ organization undergoing transitions, driving HR transformations;
  • Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention, and reward and benefits programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, strategies and initiatives to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of commercial HR within the company;
  • Ability to use data driven analysis to identify problems and build solutions;
  • Strong project/program management skills, preferably with Prince2;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

In this role you take place as the HR Manager/ HR business partner within the People & Organization department, reporting directly to the Executive Director People & Organization. The People & Organization team consists of HR, Talent Acquisition and Learning & Talent Development professionals and there is an active International European HR Community this position will collaborate with.

Ewals Cargo Care now employs approximately 2,550 employees from 31 locations in 14 countries throughout Europe. The head office is located near Venlo, right next to the A73. You will be working in a solid family business that has been around for more than 100 years and where the lines of communication are short.
