The President of Sales will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the company's sales strategy and revenue growth initiatives in both project and B2B sales segments. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented professional with extensive experience in the steel industry, particularly in project sales and B2B sales to industrial clients. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing sales team, develop strategic partnerships, and drive business development efforts to expand market share and drive profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion objectives.
  • Lead and manage the sales team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and mentorship to drive performance and exceed sales goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in both project sales (e.g., construction projects, infrastructure development) and B2B sales to industrial clients.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, contractors, developers, and industry stakeholders to enhance market presence and drive customer loyalty.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, and finance, to align sales initiatives with business objectives and ensure seamless execution of projects and contracts.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and sales agreements to maximize profitability and minimize risk.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform sales strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sales organization, optimizing processes, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, pipeline activity, and customer feedback to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote brand visibility, generate leads, and cultivate strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing sales activities, contracts, and business practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in senior sales leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in the steel industry, particularly in project sales and B2B sales.
  • Deep understanding of the steel market, including market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a proven ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and financial metrics to inform decision-making and drive performance.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation, business development, and driving growth in a competitive market environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, sales forecasting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit project sites.
