Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Technology and Low Voltage Project Manager (PM) professional to join our team and be responsible for project delivery. The role involves effectively managing and overseeing client relations based upon project deliverables to ensure high-quality standards are met. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of project management methodologies, along with good project accounting skills, computer skills, excellent reporting skills, and a clear understanding of typical project delivery methods.


PM must be able to communicate, coordinate, and liaise with clients, internal resources, leadership, and stakeholders. We are seeking a person who can contribute to our digital process improvements, address quality of project and work being performed, and ensure timely completion of projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to make a significant impact on our organizational success. The PM will be the go-to person for everything involving a project's organization, delivery, and timeline, including developing detailed project plans, ensuring managing resource availability and allocation, and delivering every project on time within budget and scope. PM will report directly to the Director of Technology or COO and collaborate closely with all internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Development:

  • Develop detailed project scopes, objectives, and schedules, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with project stakeholders to ensure receipt of necessary information to complete project deliverables.
  • Manage consulting, design, and delivery of key client projects.
  • Organize information flow from project meetings to designers and engineers.
  • Coordinate project delivery team to meet project design schedule.
  • Attend meetings, both in-person and virtually (as needed), working closely with project stakeholders.
  • Conform with PM processes to ensure that projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results.
  • Manage project design budget to ensure desired project profit is met.
  • During the project delivery; understand out of scope items, develop change orders with fee requirements, and manage additional services along with project delivery.
  • Be responsible for quality control of and quality assurance for all project deliverables.
  • Be proficient in reading and reviewing floor plans and technical diagrams.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge base of technology and low voltage systems for buildings.
  • Have a general understanding of typical building systems and any systems that may be serviced from a technology-based system.

Resource Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with project stakeholders to ensure receipt of necessary information to complete project deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure flawless project execution and delivery.
  • Ensure project resource availability and allocation.
  • Manage all logistical aspects of project deliverables, ensuring timely delivery and proper resource utilization.

Execution and Monitoring:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed project plan to track work in progress.
  • Utilize technology for remote monitoring and reporting, leveraging digital tools like Smartsheet.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Perform quality control and assurance risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide regular project progress updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Oversee complete project execution to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, meeting QA/QC requirements, and within design fee budget.

Financial Management:

  • Verify and manage the cost of all project expenditures.
  • Provide project and financial status reports to leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure all technical resource payout requirements are met.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Comply with company audit requirements.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Manage the prioritization of tasks and processes to ensure that goals are achieved within the given timeframe.
  • Provide regular updates to internal resources, internal stakeholders, and the executive leadership team, enhancing cross-functional collaboration and project transparency.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Interface regularly with the Technology Director or COO to obtain operational updates and project directives.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, adapting to evolving project needs.


Preferred Experience:

  • Relevant educational background, preferably in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, Technology Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proficient with project management software, including Smartsheet.
  • RCDD and/or PMP certification is a plus.


Required Experience & Traits:

  • Minimum 5 years in technology consulting, design, and delivery of projects.
  • Experience communicating with all key aspects of the project to stakeholders, internal resources, and executive leadership.
  • Experience developing project plans, scopes of work, resourcing, and fee structures necessary to deliver a project.
  • Focuses on efficiency and excellence in all business processes.
  • Utilizes strong analytical skills to develop, implement, and improve systems that enhance productivity and outcomes.
  • Constantly tracks information to inform decision-making and drive the business forward.
  • Committed to setting, achieving, and exceeding performance metrics and goals.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Skilled in communication and negotiation, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Prioritizes client satisfaction and long-term partnerships to drive loyalty and business growth.
  • Requires up to 80% in-office commitment; however, anticipated on project onsite.
