Supply Chain Analyst - US - Lexington, SC

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Apex Tool Group is looking for a Supply Chain Analyst located in the Lexington, SC, Apex, NC or Huntersville, NC area reporting to the Sr. Director of Supply Chain. The Supply Chain Analyst will assist in the development and maintenance of the supply and demand plan for specific channels or key accounts as assigned. Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing customer forecasts working with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing and performing analytics to drive improvement opportunities. They have responsibility for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support S&OP process.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Manage the demand plan for assigned channels or key accounts.
  • Manage the purchasing requirements for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Improve upon existing demand forecasting statistical or machine learning methodologies by developing model enhancements, running computational experiments, and fine-tuning model parameters for new forecasting models
  • Transform data into actionable insights; design and conduct complex ad-hoc analyses with a high degree of independence
  • Participate in monthly billing estimate process with Sales & Channel Marketing teams
  • Analyze demand using supply chain software and Tableau reporting tools including forecast accuracy, historical trends, and monthly changes to improve performance
  • Analyze historical demand, promotional plans, new product introductions, and customer point-of-sales, inventory, and forecast information to generate forecasts
  • Revise the demand plan as need as an output of S OP meetings to properly drive business MRP systems.
  • Designing /Improving necessary processes, systems, reports, KPI's.
  • Work in other internal associates

Strategic – 40%

  • Responsible for the demand plan for assigned brands and product groups ($50M /- USD demand plan)
  • Contribute to the S OP meetings and processes relevant to global power tools business segment.
  • Develop collaborative planning processes working with internal contacts to assess changing needs to the demand plan.
  • Continually refining and improving the demand plan, with a goal of reducing error in the short and long term plans
  • Making strategic recommendations for improved processes such as promo forecasts, customer forecast data management, inventory management.
  • Support financial management analysis needs and goals.
  • Participate in regular meetings prioritizing sales opportunities with plant operations to improve customer service levels.
  • Participate in regular meetings identifying and resolving conflicts with respect to materials and capacity availability with plant operations to resolve late customer orders and STOs.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Statistics or a related field
  • Desired 1-2 years of experience in an analytical role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling, and communication.
  • Desired 1-2 years of experience in Demand Planning, Operations, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement demonstrating proficiency with those assignments
  • Basic knowledge of SAP (or other ERP) and leading demand planning software tools preferred
  • Knowledge of data programs and techniques, Tableau and MS Excel is preferred
  • Self-motivated professional with overall understanding of the Demand Planning and its implication on the Supply Chain (Production, Inventory and Service)
  • Organized individual capable of scheduling and completing tasks on a regular calendar
  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills
  • Willing to be flexible and adapt to changing business priorities
  • Works primarily independently to achieve stated performance goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of colleagues across a global business
  • Travel 10% of job time, while not expected to be a majority of duties, must be able to do as required.
  • Conference calls may be outside of standard working hours.
