Child Psychologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
The Psychologist (Child) will assist children and families to realize happiness and fulfillment in their daily lives, thereby achieving their developmental milestones.
Will diagnose psychological disorders and issues based on their assessments and observations.
Provide counseling and therapy sessions to help children overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being.
Conducting research to advance understanding of human behavior and develop new treatment methods is integral to the psychologist's role.
Shall participate in professional development activities to stay updated on the latest research, techniques, and ethical guidelines.
The psychologist ensures confidentiality and privacy of client information is paramount in the practice of psychology.
Provide detailed documentation and records of evaluations and treatments according to in-house policies.
Educate family members on interventions they can do for their child or how to respond to certain behaviors.
Coordinate with other child health experts, like child protection workers, pediatricians and social workers to facilitate and ensure the psychological development of a child.
Address issues such as depression, bullying, various mental health issues and learning difficulties in children by providing appropriate psychological intervention.
Offer recommendations concerning the nature of child custody cases, as well as determine the suitability of each parent to take the sole custody of the child.
Psychologist - REQUIREMENTS
Degree: Must have a PhD or PsyD from an accredited college or university by the American Psychology Association with a doctoral degree in Child Psychology.
Experience: Must have at least one year of full-time experience in the last two years.
Licensure: Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in the state of Florida.
