Physician Assistant - Surgery/ Robotics

Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant to the Emergency Medicine group at NYC Health Hospitals/ South Brooklyn Health. The Hospital is part of the  NYC Health Hospitals System (NYCHHC). South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy and a ccommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually.

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant will work in our Surgery Department.

Primary assignment is daytime, dedicated to the OR, surgical robot rooms.

• Assist surgeons as needed for procedures performed with a surgical robot
• May also include clinical coverage of surgery clinics, performing history and physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests based on assessments, developing treatment plans, prescribing drugs and other therapies as needed, making referrals as necessary, consulting with supervising medical provider when appropriate
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting physicians in an OR setting, preferably in a setting with a surgical robot preferred
• BLS/ACLS certification
• NYS License Required
• NCCPA Certification Required
