Junior Indirect Tax Analyst

JR INDIRECT TAX (New York, NY)

Background:

• Must be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
• Detail oriented - there are many monthly return filing deadlines for the various taxes in the Excise Tax Area
• Attention to detail is very important as payments can exceed $1m per return
• Ability to work with a variety of commodity groups
• Must be able to multi-task
• Experience in Excise Tax Area (specifically SUT, Motor Fuel) would be a plus
• Analyze and understand transactions in order to determine taxability and reporting requirements
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Experience – min. 2-5 years in the Indirect Tax Area
• Four year degree required in accounting/finance and/or tax
• Big 4 experience a plus
• Audit experience
• Knowledge of Excel
• Must be able to work hard and work overtime if necessary
  
  

Compensation:

• The expected base salary ranges from $70-90k, plus discretionary end-of-year bonus and a generous employee benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
