A function of the Coordinated Intake (CI) program is designed to provide housing stabilization assistance and services to no-to-low-barrier, newly homeless sheltered homeless individuals and families who are housing ready. The Housing Navigator will work collaboratively with enrolled participants and continuum of care (CoC) partners to chart an efficient and swift pathway out of shelter and into safe permanent housing. The Housing Navigator reports directly to the Housing Navigator Coordinator.
The Housing Navigator will assist participants with exploring rapid exits out of shelter and into stable permanent housing. The Housing Navigator will assist participants with determining program and housing eligibility, program enrollment and housing coordination with local Public Housing Authorities (PHA), other community housing organizations and through private landlord engagement.
To best serve the program participant, the Housing Navigator must advocate that individual choice is upheld during participation in the housing process. The Housing Navigator is an extremely collaborative position and requires high-level teamwork and coordination amongst and across the homeless continuum of care and with established community partners.
This is a non-exempt, union position with a minimum-starting wage $18.00 per hour.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with specialization in social, behavioral or human services.
