Diptyque- Luxury Fragrance House has established itself as one of the most renowned, leading fragrance houses within the luxury market today. Founded in 1961, the Maison is known for its mix of iconic scented candles, personal fragrances, bath and body products, and home décor. Its flagship boutique is in Paris’ 5th arrondissement at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain.
The Director of Retail Excellence will be accountable for leading, coaching, engaging, and mentoring the operations & allocation team to pursue excellence and profitable growth. This role will be responsible for overseeing business performances, all front of house and back of house operations in North America, all new opening and renovation plans as well as working on strategic and financial retail plans. You will report to the VP Retail to ensure the team’s processes, functions, and workflow, prioritize creating an elevated and profitable shopping experience for internal and external clients.

Provide ad hoc strategical analysis and presentation to Top Management
Market intelligence and stores networking: perform strategic analysis to develop and optimize sales networks, ensure geographical footprint optimization leveraging on the best store formats and retail mix.
Consistently provide market, trend, and competitive analysis within the Retail Development scope
Operational Excellence at store level: ensuring the store operations guidelines are applied, to foster continuous channels optimization and to deliver the best in-store customer experience.
Drive business effectiveness: through an attentive agenda management, a skillful omnichannel orchestration, intelligent booking and optimized time management.
Foster a continuous performance dialogue: constantly monitoring commercial KPIs, encouraging proactive performance improvement and intelligent benchmarking, being in charge, along with the IT department, of IT systems and platform related to commercial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, sales incentives calculation, etc.
Implement and roll-out of stores incentive systems.
Manage communication strategies and contents towards organization using different channels
RETAIL OPERATIONS
Oversee all the daily Operations of the network.
Develop and implement an audit process
Ensure a high level of partnership with all key players among the organization locally and globally.
Build and monitor budget and plans for retail operations.
Forecast and manage the store maintenance budget along with execution.
Analyze operational expenses and cost of inventory to identify losses and develop strategy to reduce stock loss.
Ensure the retail store is always presented to the highest standards.
Ensure compliance with health/safety policies and procedures at retail stores.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Review and implement operational procedures and conduct regular store visits to boost operational efficiency and effectiveness and ensure meeting legal compliance.
Review and prepare business management reporting to reflect sales performance with insights and recommendations.
Optimize and support stock allocation operations.
Oversee the opening and renovation plan.

Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail operations and/or strategy
Luxury beauty or fashion, and retail experience is preferred
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills; can build and manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L
Expert Excel & Power point skills
Extensive experience developing & executing strategies and plans
Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proven ability to negotiate
