Description: The Director of Health Services is a 10-month position that reports directly to the Associate Dean of Student Life. This position works closely with the Associate Dean, Allegheny Health Network medical professionals and on-site nurses to provide leadership and sound management in servicing the health needs of our students and works collaboratively with the Director of Counseling Services to support the wellness of the campus community. Duties include but are not limited to supervising, training, and developing the nursing staff. Coordinating details associated with physician visitations to ensure adequate preparation and coverage for the various needs presented during those hours each day. Develop appropriate partnerships with local hospitals and health services and coordinate the campus blood drives. Order and manage inventory of health supplies and equipment. Assist in CPR training for employees of the College. Maintain communications with the Pennsylvania Department of Health on communicable disease presentation on campus and influenza surveillance.

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution is required. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Must be a licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania. Must have five (5) to ten (10) years of experience servicing the health and wellness needs of a given population. Emergency department or college health center experience preferred. CPR certification required. CPR training certification strongly preferred. Must have the ability to connect interpersonally with a diverse population of college-age students, parents, and a host of campus constituencies and maintain a calm disposition in the midst of difficult circumstances. Strong organizational and communication skills are required. Demonstrated ability to process information and make decisions that are consistent with college values and in the best interest of the students being serviced by the Health Center. The candidate must also demonstrate a strong commitment to meeting student needs, and be able to maintain a professional, positive, and service-oriented attitude. Finally, the individual should be aligned with the overarching Christian mission of the College and department.
