Position Overview:

The Compliance & Quality Manager is responsible for shaping and leading the organization’s compliance and quality assurance functions. This position develops, maintains, and administers GIA’s compliance policy framework for current business activity and future development, ensuring the compliance function is aligned to the organization’s long-term strategy. The incumbent maintains knowledge of state and federal insurance statues and regulations relevant to GIA’s operations and provides training and communication on regulatory changes that impact business operations. The Compliance & Quality Manager is responsible for the creation and maintenance of operational quality assurance activities such as audits, reporting, and surveys.


Some of the Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or remedy violations of state or federal insurance regulations and/or organization’s procedures and practices
  • Design compliance plans and programs; direct compliance activities
  • Manage response for complaints and market conduct exams from state regulators
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of GIA as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
  • Communicate and collaborate with business units to resolve non-compliant practices
  • Develop and implement a quality assurance program, including defining quality standards, designing testing procedures, and establishing a framework for ongoing monitoring
  • Evaluate the efficiency of and continuously improve operational controls



Qualifications & Skills:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area and four years of business regulatory compliance or other related experience; experience may substitute for education
  • Ability to identify complex problems, review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
  • Ability to lead others, provide direction and professional development.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret insurance technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to present in large groups, and ability to explain technical concepts in an operational setting.
  • Works with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.


PREFERRED:

  • Advanced knowledge of standard industry personal lines, commercial and farm insurance lines of business and common practices.
  • Related professional certifications preferred.


Comprehensive Benefits:


  • Pay Range: $67,725 to $84,510
  • Flexible hybrid work schedule (2 days per week in Seattle office required)
