The SAP Basis Administrator plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the SAP infrastructure, ensuring the smooth functioning of SAP applications and systems, and providing technical support to optimize performance and reliability.
Key responsibilities
Install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems and NetWeaver components as per the organization's requirements.
Monitor and maintain SAP environments, including performance tuning and system optimization.
Implement and manage SAP security and authorizations to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve SAP system issues and ensure high availability.
Perform system copies, client copies, and system refresh activities to support development, testing, and training requirements.
Manage SAP databases, including backup and recovery processes, and oversee disaster recovery procedures.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.
Participate in SAP implementation projects and provide technical expertise and guidance during system upgrades and migrations.
Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and industry best practices to recommend and implement system enhancements.
Collaborate with external vendors and support teams for issue resolution and system upgrades.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as an SAP Basis Administrator or in a similar role, managing SAP environments and systems.
In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, administration, and infrastructure components.
Proficiency in SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, and SAP Solution Manager.
Strong understanding of database administration, particularly in SAP HANA and Oracle databases.
Experience in SAP system installation, upgrade, and configuration in a distributed environment.
Ability to perform system monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Knowledge of SAP security and authorization concepts, roles, and profiles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Relevant SAP certifications such as SAP Certified Technology Associate or similar credentials are a plus.
