We are currently seeking a Senior Director-level Clinical Scientist who can be both hands-on and strategic in our innovative oncology clinical development programs. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and interpreting clinical studies and translational data to drive the development of one or more projects in our pipeline of oncology therapies.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Clinical Science:

  • Provide scientific and clinical expertise to advance our portfolio of oncology therapies.
  • Lead the design and execution of clinical development plans, including analysis of different scenarios to demonstrate proof-of-mechanism, proof-of-concept and prioritization of potential indications.
  • Lead the creation of study protocols, investigator brochures and regulatory submission documents.
  • Interpret translational and clinical trial data and contribute to the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Engage scientifically with investigators and collaborators.
  • Maintain and share knowledge of competitive intelligence, including in-class competitor molecules and the changing landscape for indications of interest.

Cross-functional collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the preclinical team and translational medicine experts to interpret data and apply translational science in clinical studies.
  • Collaborate with biostatistics and regulatory affairs to ensure the scientific integrity of clinical trials.
  • Coordinate with clinical team members to execute clinical trials, drive enrollment, and ensure data quality.


Education and Experience Required:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., MA/MS) in a life science discipline with a focus on oncology or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in clinical research within the biotech or pharma industry with a strong focus on oncology.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements for clinical development in oncology.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the design and implementation of clinical trials.
  • Experience developing a clinical development strategy, including demonstration of proof-of-concept and registrational trial design, for one or more programs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, facilitative leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Able to interpret statistical analyses of clinical data.
  • Proven track record of scientific publications and presentations in oncology.
  • Able to plan for, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.


Other Information:

NiKang currently anticipates the annual base salary range for this Senior Director-level role is estimated to be from $230,000 to $280,000. Our job titles span more than one career level. The actual title for this role and final salary amount offered to a successful candidate may be higher or lower than the estimated range and will depend on several factors that include, but are not limited to, the geographic location of the candidate, the type and length of applicable experience, education, and other relevant factors. In addition to base salary, the hired applicant for this position will be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus and potential equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. NiKang offers a comprehensive benefit plan to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k) program, Paid Time Off benefits, eligibility for medical, dental, vision benefits, flexible benefits, short-term disability and life insurance benefits. NiKang reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs at its sole discretion.
