The Director of Pharmacy Services is a Registered Pharmacist or Doctor of Pharmacy who is responsible for the required professional and administrative functions of the pharmacy and IV services of the hospital and any affiliated services. The Director has the requisite hospital experience to manage the department, to ensure patient safety through the proper storage and dispersion of drugs and IVs, and to maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance.
Education
Position Qualifications
Must have obtained at a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Completion of post-graduate curriculum in Pharmacy, Business Administration, or Health Care Administration preferred.
Experience
At least five (5) years experience in a hospital setting as a Registered Pharmacist dispensing drugs and preparing IVs. At least three (3) years experience in clinical management or supervisory role. Active knowledge and experience in pharmaco-kinetics.
Licenses/Certificates
Current Georgia license as a Registered Pharmacist.

Proficiency in written and verbal communications. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, employees in nursing areas, other Department employees, other Hospital department directors, and administration. Current knowledge of standards of accrediting bodies (e.g., DNV, TJC) and state and federal regulations. Able to lead others and work according to Compliance and ethics standards. Emotionally mature and able to function under stressful conditions.
