Description

Cozen O’Connor’s Legal Talent Coordinator is a full-time position on the firm’s Legal Talent team who reports to the Director of Career Development (“DCD”) and works to support firmwide attorney professional development.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work closely with the DCD to implement and support firmwide attorney training initiatives, which may include creating and updating training program materials and resources; communicating with external and internal presenters; communicating with program participants; consulting with internal subject matter experts to update materials; hosting and planning meetings; scheduling and creating invitations for in-person, remote/virtual, and hybrid meetings; managing planning timelines, records, and RSVP lists; and coordinating training materials.

Coordinate planning of multi-day attorney trainings and orientation programs, including managing invitations; tracking RSVPs; tracking and accommodating individual travel, dietary, or other personal needs; serving as primary contact for logistical questions leading up to programs; managing lodging and accommodation reservations and bookings; assisting with planning off-site events and being point person during off-site events; assisting DCD with vetting, selecting, and booking guest speakers; designing proposed program agendas; and assisting with creation and distribution of all hard copy materials.

Coordinate live delivery of multi-day attorney trainings and orientations, including booking conference rooms; ensuring audiovisual requirements and catering needs are identified and met; managing speaker confirmations and materials; managing printing and distribution of all hard copy materials, and other logistics.

Support firm’s mentoring initiatives. Manage the Cozen Pods and Cozen Coaches initiatives nearly independently (with input from DCD when needed). Assist with other mentoring initiatives such as Cozen Cohorts, Mentor of the Year Award, and others as needed.

Support firm’s lateral attorney integration efforts. Manage all record keeping and tracking for lateral attorneys. Schedule lateral attorney check-ins.

Recommend and implement efficiencies to improve attorney onboarding, orientation, and integration procedures, ensuring alignment with firm policies and culture.

Provide ongoing support to newly hired attorneys and address questions or concerns they have during their initial time at the firm.

Keep attorney training resources (handouts) current and up-to-date, recommend revisions and new materials when appropriate and necessary, including updating the Legal Talent intranet page and serving as the point of contact for attorneys on professional development resources.

Support CLTO and DCD through attorney evaluation process including assisting with creation and implementation of self-evaluation and evaluation processes in vi Desktop.

Manage the Legal Talent calendar and email inbox (as part of a team effort involving all Legal Talent team coordinators).

Conduct market research on professional development related topics such as compensation, integration efforts, well-being, and mentoring, and make recommendations as appropriate.

Stay abreast of news, trends and changes in the legal market which impact attorney development including topics such as compensation, integration efforts, well-being, and mentoring.

Support the Legal Talent team with logistical needs to assist the DCD and CLTO in meeting coordination.

Support the Legal Talent team’s collaboration with HR, DEI, and legal departments to support attorney integration and continued professional development and to continually evaluate and enhance the Legal Talent team’s processes and systems for greater efficiency and quality.

Assist Legal Talent team’s recruiting efforts when needed.

Work collaboratively with other Legal Talent team or firm initiatives as assigned.

Thorough understanding of attorney development and common and best practices in the field.

General understanding of legal recruiting.

Willing to work evenings for events and gatherings held in conjunction with professional development programs and initiatives.

Knowledge of Microsoft’s suite of products including Word, Power Point, and Excel. Familiarity with Adobe and Canva is a plus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
