Position Summary
The FP&A Associate will be an expert in financial planning and analysis. This individual will provide financial insights and projections to the Finance team and will be responsible for analyzing data that will be used in decision making and planning. The FP&A Associate will prepare accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.
Responsibilities
Provide FP&A finance support to the Finance teams regarding productivity, demand planning, reporting, and financial metrics
Prepare budgets and forecasts, variance analyses, long-term planning, risk/opportunity assessments, and periodic/ad hoc reporting
Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions
Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization
Partner with the Finance team during the close process, which includes reviewing departmental general ledgers, recording transactional activity, preparing revenue and expense accruals, and providing P&L and Cash variance explanations to budget and forecasts
Identify areas for revenue opportunities and cost improvements
Serve as Finance liaison to departments by working closely with them in understanding their business, supporting their initiatives, and general financial inquiries
Identify and research variances regarding forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses
Assist in automating the consolidated reporting process
Conduct necessary account and system reconciliations
Review financial reports, presentations, and other management reporting needs
Ad hoc business reporting and analysis as needed
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field of study
Minimum four (4) years of experience working in financial planning and analysis
Experience working for a mature organization that has experienced high growth
General knowledge of accounting and financial principles
Data savvy; comfortable developing financial reports and metrics
Proficiency with web based technologies and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
Ability to successfully leverage Financial software
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders and different levels of management
Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Comfortable navigating through gray areas without clear solutions
Good time management skills
