Cosmetology Instructor

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and talented Cosmetology Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the skills and knowledge of future cosmetologists, preparing them for successful careers in the ever-evolving beauty industry.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver a comprehensive cosmetology curriculum, adhering to Washington State licensing requirements
• Provide hands-on instruction in all aspects of cosmetology, including haircare, hairstyling, cutting, coloring, skincare, makeup application, and client consultation
• Evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for improvement
• Maintain a positive and professional learning environment, fostering a passion for the cosmetology industry
• Stay current with the latest trends and techniques in cosmetology through continuing education
• Contribute to the overall success of the cosmetology program by participating in curriculum development and improvement initiatives
• Correspond with outside vendors and agencies regarding payments, supplies, orders and student enrollments
• Verify timecards for students
• Schedule customer appointments
• Conduct new student orientation classes
• Prepare facility for educational inspections
• Compile and distribute student progress reports
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

This person will work closely alongside with and report directly to the owner.

Qualifications:

• Washington State Cosmetology Instructor License
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist
• Proven teaching experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills
• Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment for students
• Strong work ethic, passion for the cosmetology industry, and a commitment to student success
• Proven history of working independently, with minimal supervision
• Prior experience counting cash and/or conducting business related bank deposits
• Knowledge of MindBody or similar client scheduling software
• Ability set up chat messages, files, folders and interface with Microsoft Teams and use other Microsoft products
