BIM/CAD Designer - Water/Wastewater Infrastructure

Freese and Nichols is seeking a BIM/CAD Designer to join our Denver, CO office. This position will focus on design of water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure projects.

• Understands the project requirements, scope of work, and deliverables.
• Provides leadership taking a wholistic view of the project and makes independent project level decisions that are trusted by the engineers.
• Prepares detail and layout drawings and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
• Performs discipline design tasks which regularly require the application of fundamental engineering concept with limited input and direction from the engineer or architect.
• Utilizes company best practices to set up, maintain, and utilize drawing files in accordance with company and National CAD Standards.
• Acts as liaison between company CAD Managers and regional CAD users to ensure company policies and new technologies are being implemented by all local users.
• Engages with team members in a professional, responsive, and collaborative manner.
• May provide conceptual input to projects during the planning stages
• Delegates and supervises tasks assigned to Designers and Technicians
• Coordinates design with other disciplines and coordinates work sharing within team.
• Ensures output is professional, consistent with prevailing standards and satisfies project requirements.
• Interfaces with other departments, clients, vendors, and project engineers in order to support project production.
• Provides training, guidance and mentorship to staff.
• Participates in interviewing other positions on this ladder and makes hiring recommendations.
• Performs quality control on deliverables and incorporates Continuous Improvement into work processes.
• Develops and implements new processes as required to ensure consistent quality.
• May lead CAD activities on projects.
• May manage CAD Library for discipline.
• May manage CAD staff.

Qualifications

• 12 years with a broad base in engineering design and technical support of engineering.
• Advanced expertise in computer operation and in Autodesk Civil 3D with experience in alignments, pipe networks, surfaces, and data management.
• Proven ability to learn, adapt, and problem solve to produce accurate and quality deliverables. Ability to work with all levels of personnel
• High School diploma or equivalent

• Associate degree in CAD
  
  

The annual salary range for this position is $70,400 - $108,386.30 and is dependent on candidate's qualifications as compared to minimum and preferred requirements. Exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay at a straight-time hourly rate for any hours over forty (40) hours per week. Employees are eligible for annual bonuses and amounts are determined by company profitability and growth, and for employees at higher compensation grades, group and personal performance are also considered.
