Due to open in Summer 2025, and hosted by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) will be the first to set new ambitious standards of practice and outcomes for rehabilitation patients in England. The NRC will work closely with the co-located Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, and with the academic partners led by the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University. Research and innovation and training and education in rehabilitation will be embedded at the NRC will be central to clinical practice. The NRC programme is at a crucial stage of planning and transition to ensure that the centre is established robustly to achieve the excellence it strives for.
The post holder will work across a number of work streams focused on the opening of the new centre, working closely with the Director of Operations and the Head of Commercial and Construction for the NRC.

Main duties of the job

The Project Manager (PM) will provide project management expertise to the project boards, managers and teams to aid the planning and successful delivery of the transition workstreams for the NRC on time and within budget. This will include proactively managing areas of work according to formal workplans by anticipating deadlines, allocating and chasing actions, identifying risks and preparing reports and other materials as required.
The PM will build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their views and needs are taken account of in all stages of work and incorporated in the new service plans. Best practice including process mapping will be shared and applied to challenge existing ways of working, to promote adoption of progressive solutions and guide effective decision-making.
The PM will manage and document the project phases in accordance with Trust requirements, policies and organisational development agendas to deliver improved clinical outcomes for patients and more efficient use of resources. The PM will also work with the communications team to promote the NRC.
The PM will support the NRC Senior Team as required, will provide line management and development support to junior PMO roles, and will maintain their own Continuing Professional Development Plan, engaging with the Personal Development Review process.
