Construction Manager - Electrical and Instrumentation – E & I

Fuel Storage Terminal, Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands

18 month Assignment

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to oversee Electrical and Instrumentation ( E&I ) work for a fuel storage terminal project in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of E&I construction, ensuring project milestones are met within budget and on schedule while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Oversee and coordinate E&I construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.

Quality Control: Ensure all E&I installations meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations.

Team Leadership: Lead and supervise E&I construction teams, including subcontractors and engineers.

Technical Oversight: Review and approve technical drawings, plans, and specifications for E&I systems.

Progress Reporting: Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or delays in the construction process.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years in E&I construction management, preferably in the process sector.

Certification: Valid certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) and E&I systems are preferred.

Standards Experience: Proficiency with relevant Dutch and European electrical standards, including:

·      NEN 1010: Safety requirements for electrical installations.

·      NEN 3140: Safety for operation and maintenance of electrical installations.

·      NEN-EN-IEC 60079: Electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres (ATEX).

·      NEN 6090: Fire safety in buildings and installations.

·      NEN 3650-2: Design and installation of piping systems.

Language Skills: Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.

Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of E&I systems, codes, and regulations applicable to oil and gas facilities.

Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
