Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with primary counselors to identify students’ career interests and develop ideas for individually tailored internship placements.
  • Develop internships in a diverse range of employment fields to match students’ interests, skills, maturity levels and experience.
  • Maintain all paperwork associated with internship placement process, including hiring packets, timesheets etc.
  • Plan and execute career panels, fairs and workshops in collaboration with other primary counselors.
  • Provide guidance to employers on maximizing internship experiences by working effectively with adolescents.
  • Provide support to employers and students during internships in the form of phone calls, meetings and site visits.
  • Facilitate weekly seminars, Job Club, for students that focus on building students’ skills in education and career development.
  • Assist students’ post-internship with future employment and provide educational and career development counseling and support.
  • Plan, implement and execute all aspects of the recruitment process.
  • Overall supervisory responsibility over internship program planning, reporting, tracking, program development and implementation, assessment and evaluation, and contract compliance.
  • Meet with staff from SYEP/WIOA sites to share learning, compare approaches and develop new program ideas.
  • Assist with out-of-school issues and provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Engage students’ families to support positive outcomes for the students.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the site when PD is off site.
  • The Program Coordinator may perform other duties as assigned by the Director.


Minimum Qualifications :

  • Associates Degree in Social Work, Education, or related field.
  • Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali and others, may be required depending on client needs.
  • 3 years’ running a school-based program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.


Qualifications Preferred :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work , Education, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Education , Social Work or other related field.
  • Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali and others, may be required depending on client needs.
