Duties

As a HR Specialist (Compensation) you will:

  • Interpret administrative policies, develop and implement local policies, define administrative requirements, and/or provide advice to top management on related issues.
  • Counsel or advise individual employees within a large, complex, or diverse organization or a significant organizational segment of the agency, such as a regional office, Center, or major field installation, on sensitive or serious problems related to overseas entitlements.
  • Provide advisory services to managers of a significant organizational segment of the Agency, such as a regional office, Center, or major field installation.
  • Perform substantive review of complex workers' compensation claims and documentation, determining not only completeness and timeliness, but also reviewing for accuracy and consistency.


Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing counseling to management, employees and family members on entitlements to determine pay, time and leave matters; experience maintaining payroll records, analyzing pay data, and producing related pay reports/audits.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.


Salary:

$86,962-$113,047 per year
