Performs a variety of general cleaning duties in the hospital environment. Performs all cleaning phases of patient care rooms, surgery suites, offices and other areas as needed.
M AJOR R ESPONSIBILITIES
Cleaning – 70%
Washing walls, ceilings, doors and door frames
Cleaning lighting fixtures, windows and blinds
Sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and scrubbing all floors
Shampooing, carpet extraction and vacuuming carpets in the hallways and cleaning stairwells
Cleaning patient rooms, including furniture. Move beds and furniture.
Cleaning cabinets, refrigerators, water fountains, microwave ovens, gurneys and equipment
Cleaning air conditioner vents and grills
Clean surgical suites between cases, isolation rooms and terminal room
Clean restrooms including fixtures, sinks, showers, tubs and toilets
Clean all common areas
Maintenance – 20%
Polishing and shampooing furniture
Re-stock restroom supplies
Removing trash and soiled linen
Making patient beds
Empty medical waste and sharp containers, handling it safely and properly
Delivery/Other – 10%
Deliver supplies to workstations
Deliver linen to all areas
Ability to operate high water pressure machine and gas air blower
Q UALIFICATIONS
Required
Ability to take directions and carry them out efficiently and completely.
Must provide for confidentiality, privacy and safety of patients, visitors and staff always.
Must be available for all shifts, any day.
