The Role:

The Computational Protein Generation team supports both production and R&D protein design efforts crucial to Generate Biomedicines’ product pipeline. As a Data Scientist I, you will be integral to collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to facilitate the rapid production of high-quality protein designs. You will thrive in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities, collaborating with scientists and engineers to extract actionable insights from data that will drive organizational decision-making.

Here's how you will contribute:

  • Develop tools to extract and analyze data from multiple production systems.
  • Create presentations, dashboards, and reports to inform teams and organizational leadership about trends in protein design production.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of the team's protein design process to identify opportunities and bottlenecks, advocating for changes based on data-driven insights.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to steer the team’s direction through data-driven decision making.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative / scientific field (e.g. MS or PhD)
  • 4 years’ experience working in a Data Scientist related role or recent PhD graduate
  • Results-driven, high-performer with highly collaborative style
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Expertise in core statistical and analytical methods
  • Well versed in machine learning fundamentals. Experience with deep learning frameworks is desired.
  • Extensive experience with production-grade programming in Python
  • Experience in healthcare, biology and/or biotechnology highly preferred
