Long-Term Teachers have a unique opportunity to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) at one of our incredible special schools based in Exeter. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday during term time only.
The school provides excellent education and support for children across all ages (3 - 19). The students you will be working closely with have severe or profound learning difficulties. Therefore, previous experience working with young people with additional needs is essential. Furthermore, you must be able to demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills.
About The Role
Delivering whole class cover during the absence of the class teacher or during PPA cover
Support the teacher in personalising the curriculum to allow the students to thrive
Support the teacher with planning of future lessons
Implement the schools policies and procedures, including safeguarding the students
Establish and maintain and enjoyable and safe learning environment
Engage students in their lessons and foster a love for learning
