Communication Leader focus area Sustainability, IKEA Delft Store, full-time

The Delft Store is looking for a new colleague to join the Communication Team.

As Communication Leader you are part of the communication department of the IKEA Delft Store. The department focuses on internal communication towards our co-workers and external communication towards the community in Delft and surrounding areas in order to generate more visitors to the Delft Store.

Your role within this team is to establish the IKEA Brand and the IKEA Delft Store as trusted and meaningful and being the natural destination for leading a more sustainable life at home. Integrating the sustainability strategy into everyday decisions, ways of working and operations in all our change processes.

Your responsibilities include:
You will inspire and enable the many people to live more sustainably through involvement in related projects and activities such as co-worker and customer engagement projects, events, marketing projects, in-store communication. Additionally you:

• ensure that the sustainability basics are in place by contributing to all aspects of IKEA retail operations while driving the sustainability agenda.
• secure store sustainability direction and ambitions, to drive sustainability initiatives, processes and projects that deliver to the total business agenda and a more People and Planet Positive IKEA.
• contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and actions of external, market-relevant demands; trends and legislation; IWAY for suppliers - IISbv code of conduct; policies and standards, and working methods.
• will be involved in and provide support on community involvement initiatives inour primary market area.
• engage managers and co-workers by providing timely and relevant sustainability knowledge and information. Provide support in delivering co-worker sustainability training and secure the understanding of roles and contributions to the sustainability agenda in each function.
• support management and spokespeople with relevant sustainability facts and messages. You keep relevant external stakeholders informed about our work towards becoming People & Planet Positive, and partner with relevant organizations to help fulfill sustainability goals.

About you:
You have a passion for communication and sustainability and are very interested in human behavior. You are creative, able to get different departments to work together, like to take the lead and are truly a self-starter. You feel inspired by IKEA’s values, IKEA’s vision and the direction IKEA wants to go. You are also interested in meeting the customer, life in people’s homes and home furnishings.

Additionally you:

• are self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team.
• have the ability to priorities and organise your own work in order to make the most efficient use of time available.
• have a deep understanding of and honest belief in the values of the IKEA culture and a desire to live them in daily work.
• have in depth knowledge of how to identify and involve relevant stakeholders in a project, process or question to make things happen.
• have general knowledge on relevant sustainability subject matters within the specific topic/market area, with the desire to develop deeper knowledge
• are passionate about sustainability and IKEA working in the local community.
• have strategic and analytical skills to convert information and insights into concrete actions
• are fluent in English and fluent in or are willing to learn Dutch

Availability 
At IKEA the customer is in focus. Our customers visit the store at various times, also in the evening, weekends, during national holidays and during school holidays. We expect that you will be present when the customers visits us. Of course, you have an impact on your schedule yourself as well.
