History Teacher

Summary

For our team, we're looking for a history instructor with experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, teaching students to examine various texts, offering academic help, and creating positive connections are all duties of the history teacher. By providing engaging materials, projects, and debates, to enhance understanding. Along with aiding scholars in understanding and analyzing complex social and political topics.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt and implement a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
  • Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
  • Make use of data to inform instructional decisions
  • Give students daily feedback on their performance and plan for individual learning needs
  • Build a Positive School and Classroom Culture
  • Embody and maintain the school's values, policies, and culture '
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
  • Maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
  • Effectively manage a classroom with up to 25 students

Technology Skills

Competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.

Safety Duties & Responsibilities

Every employee of the School has an obligation to know our safety rules and procedures; to teach what they know to others; to recognize unsafe actions and situations; to warn others of unsafe situations; to react to emergency situations and to report hazardous or unsafe practices to those in a position to correct them.

Qualificationsand Requirments

  • Bachelor’s degree Required
  • Masters degree Preferred
  • Missouri Substitute Certification Required
  • Valid Missouri Teacher Certification content specific to role applied for, Strongly Preferred or willingness to become certified ASAP
  • 3 years of teaching experience Preferred
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization

Starting Salary: From $48,000annually based on experience

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday 7:45am- 4:00pm
    • Some weekends and evenings will be required

  • Saint Louis, MO 63118: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting
