Job Title: Marketing and Social Media Associate

Reports To: Development Director Overview: Canine Partners of the Rockies (CaPR) is a 501 (c)(3) service dog organization that has been enabling people with disabilities in Colorado to live more independent and fulfilling lives with the help from highly skilled assistance dogs since 2002.

Every day we marvel at the transformation of our clients and the deep bond they share with their canine partners. Marketing and social media are powerful tools that can help inform our audience about the impactful work we are doing as an organization and attract new volunteers, clients and donors that want to get involved.


As CaPR expands its programs, we are looking for a personable and experienced individual to help showcase our work and support our development efforts. So, if you are a person who works hard and cares about making a difference, this is the job for you.


Primary Responsibilities:


Social Media:

• Develop strategy and content for Canine Partners of the Rockies’ social media accounts

• Work with the Development Director to ensure content is coordinated with other mailings, emails and public relations/marketing

• Respond to or direct social media comments to the appropriate staff member


Website:

• Work within FlipCause to update website as needed, including posting blogs that correspond with monthly e-newsletters, adding sponsors and events, maintaining current dogs in-training, and updating photos, current links and information

• Assist with secondary event websites like GiveSmart to ensure content is up-to-date and linked correctly with other marketing materials


Marketing and Outreach:

• Develop designs and templates for marketing and event needs including items like puppy cards, promotional materials, thank you cards, merchandise, flyers and more

• Assist the Development Director with monthly e-newsletters, including supplying images and utilizing software like Constant Contact to send bulk emails to our mailing lists


Photography and Videos:

• Capture key moments during training, outreach, and events

  • Includes photos of puppies, client training and graduation, volunteer outings, and various photo opportunities that can be used for marketing or other content


• Create videos that may be used for social media, events or public relations

  • May include the need to interview clients, staff or volunteers
  • Edit content to create meaningful stories to be shared


Work Environment:


• This job requires occasional handling of dogs up to 80 pounds

• This position will require occasional evenings and/or weekends

• Travel throughout Colorado is required


Qualifications:


• Extensive knowledge of different social media platforms, like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

• Photography and Video production experience, including editing capability

• Competency in Microsoft Office, including SharePoint

• Previous use of Canva and other design software

• Experience with website design and editing; specifically FlipCause

• Outstanding communications skills with people and dogs

•Maintain effective relationships

• Good organizational skills, follow-through and written communication

• Strong self-motivation

• Creativity


Preferred:

• Experience working at or volunteering for a nonprofit organization

• Bilingual English/Spanish

• Experience around an accredited assistance dog

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities Position Type: Contractor Position


Compensation: Monthly Retainer between $1,500-$2,000/month
