Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Government Property Representative involving tracking, cost, material management, lean, 5S
- Advanced manufacturing planning support involving scheduling, program support, hardware management
- Manufacturing engineering tasks, primarily tactical responsibilities
- This potentially includes some minor general administrative work
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to develop, implement, and execute processes, procedures, and standards
- May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
- Good understanding of how the working technical team integrates with other teams and contributes to the overall project success of the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework
- Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE. Explain technical information to others
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma /GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical, etc)
- Additional 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
