Gas Trading Middle Office

Our client who is hiring for this role is a leading global energy and commodities firm with an international reputation for integrity developed over decades. They have offices in over 20 countries. Their expertise enables them to capitalise on the transition from fossil fuels to a low carbon economy.
Summary of Department/Position:
The company's Risk Management is the group that measures and monitors the trading, hedging, and marketing activities while providing transparency to Senior Management of the underlying risks on a consistent basis across the company. We are seeking a dynamic individual to take responsibility for risk control and risk assessment related to the US natural gas market. The individual is a key resource for Risk Management. This role is also responsible for providing support in risk coverage areas to other members of the team.
Responsibilities
• Reconciliation of daily P&L outs between trader estimate and actual P&L run
• Provide adhoc PnL summary to traders (including but not limited to mtm-and position change)
• Publishing daily P&L reports to traders and upper management
• Accurate trade entry into trading systems.
• Timely trade amendments
• Reconciling daily prices from multiple sources, such as Morningstar, Platts, trader derived marks, etc.
• Updating/ maintaining trading system reference data, from book reporting structure to instrument creation
• Provide thorough and accurate daily pnl commentary based on PnL movements
Required Qualifications
• PnL experience in Physical Gas.
• Ability to work well in group environment – This is a collaborative team that shares responsibility across all business lines
• Advanced Excel skills preferred - Candidates, must have demonstrated mastery of analyzing large raw sets of data using the following tools: Pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, formulas (sumifs, etc.), and manipulating AND building VBA macros
• Other coding (like SQL, Python) is a plus
• Allegro system experience a plus
• Extremely detail oriented
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks according to business need, in collaboration with team members
