Who is Kline Electric? We are a 100% employee-owned electrical contractor company headquartered in Des Moines, IA with additional locations in Cedar Rapids, IA, Waterloo, IA, and Omaha, NE. There are nearly 350 employee-owners between these locations specializing in commercial, residential, multi-family, service, solar, underground, traffic infrastructure, directional drilling, and low voltage services. Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, competitive bids, and working closely with project managers and clients to ensure successful project outcomes. The electrical estimator must have strong computer skills and must have experience using electrical estimating software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare cost estimates.
• Review electrical drawings to determine material and labor requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to finalize scopes and budgets.
• Present estimates to management and clients.
• Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
• Field experience as a commercial electrician preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical estimating.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Bluebeam).
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  
  

This position will work out of the Cedar Rapids office and will report to the Cedar Rapids Branch Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
