At IDG, Inc. we have a tremendous opportunity for someone to work directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and to be at the center of one of the most exciting business transformations in our industry.


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Chief of Staff to the CFO. This critical position will serve as a key advisor and strategic partner to the CFO and members of the Finance Leadership Team, facilitating the execution of strategic initiatives for Finance, driving operational efficiency within the organization, and ensuring alignment across the finance organization and beyond.


In addition, this role will be a critical driver of the Finance organization’s transformation to deliver on the transformation roadmap. Working in a cross-functional capacity, the Chief of Staff to the CFO will work closely with numerous stakeholders across the IDG organization to ensure that these changes are long-lived and sustainable.

The preference for location is in our Boston/Needham MA office in a hybrid work environment. We will consider qualified candidates in an approved remote US location; but you must be able to work on US East Coast time zone.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall CFO calendar and governance of various senior level meetings (strategic and tactical); align the team around strategic objectives and core deliverables and ensure projects and deadlines are being fulfilled
  • Manage cadence, document takeaways and ensure follow up activities are completed
  • Ensure time and resources are efficiently deployed and projects are prioritized appropriately to maximize business results; own and deliver on these Finance initiatives
  • Serve as a liaison within the finance functional areas and with groups across the rest of IDG, fostering collaboration and alignment across the organization.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to facilitate cross-functional initiatives and drive results
  • Keep track of core Finance deliverables via objectives and key results (OKRs); coordinate the development and reporting of results
  • Promote our culture of transparency: in partnership with IDG’s communications team develop a communications calendar, and execute / lead communication initiatives (e.g., town halls)
  • Provide strategic counsel to key leaders within the organization; assist in prompt decision making using a disciplined and process-oriented approach
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and communications for the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and board of directors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial performance and key metrics
  • Partner with the Business Transformation Office to develop effective change management strategies to ensure the long-term success of the Finance organization’s transformation; working with members of the Business Transformation Office on the delivery of IDG strategic initiatives and assist with IDG level initiatives and activities on an as needed basis (e.g., strategic planning process)


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of relevant work experience ideally in consulting, digital transformation, or corporate strategy. Previous experience in a chief of staff or similar role is a plus
  • Proven leadership ability, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong project management/reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines
  • Strong ability to navigate through ambiguity and ability to constantly shift priorities to the most important task at hand, while seeing the big picture
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Must work independently and be personally motivated
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of identifying opportunities for improvement and driving change.
  • Strong knowledge of the business, finance, and analytics
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Preference for the role to be located in Boston/Needham MA location, Must be able to work on US East Coast time zone.

At IDG we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices. We pay our employees equitably for their work, commensurate with their individual skills and experience. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $200,0000 and $300,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner.
