Beacon Hill Financial is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join the team of a non-profit. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the receivables process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of donations, grants, and other sources of revenue. This position requires a passion for the mission of our organization, strong financial acumen, and exceptional communication skills.

Job Responsiblities:

  • Donation Processing: Record and process donations received from individuals, corporations, and other sources, ensuring accurate allocation to designated funds and campaigns.

  • Grant Management: Assist in the administration of grants and contracts, including invoicing grantors, tracking receivables, and reporting on grant-related revenue and expenses.

  • Membership Dues: Manage membership billing and collections, including renewals, upgrades, and cancellations. Ensure membership records are up-to-date and accurately reflect member contributions.

  • Event Revenue: Record revenue from fundraising events, sponsorships, ticket sales, and merchandise sales. Coordinate with event organizers to reconcile event-related revenue and expenses.

  • Grant Reporting: Prepare financial reports and documentation required for grant compliance and reporting to funders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to grant requirements.

  • Donor Stewardship: Provide excellent customer service to donors, members, and grantors by promptly addressing inquiries, acknowledging contributions, and maintaining positive relationships.

  • Cash Handling: Process cash, checks, and credit card payments received in person or by mail, ensuring proper documentation, reconciliation, and deposit.

  • Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing receivables data, trends, and metrics to inform financial decision-making and forecasting. Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards, IRS regulations, and grant requirements related to revenue recognition, donor restrictions, and reporting.
