Group Controller

Our client is one of Europe's leading Real Estate businesses. Headquartered in Amsterdam they are active in several mature markets in Western- and Southern Europe. To support further growth they are seeking to recruit an experienced and technically solid Group Controller. The Group Controller will report to the Head of Finance and will be responsible for the consolidation of group entities as well as overseeing treasury activities. The position requires close collaboration with country controllers as well as other stakeholders. This is a unique chance for an experienced group controller to contribute to the establishment of the function, the implementation of systems and procedures and to be a key member in the finance team.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Responsible the consolidation of property, management and holding companies in various countries and currencies across Europe and prepare and present consolidated financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with group accounting standards and regulations.
• Prepare accounting memo’s on an ad-hoc basis for complex matters such as on acquisitions or financial instruments.
• Manage the company’s treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and financial risk management.
• Optimize cash management processes and ensure adequate funding for operations and investments.
• Provide insightful analysis of financial performance and key metrics to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process
• Take responsibility for group tax accounting, including transfer pricing.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Cooperate closely with country controllers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Provide guidance and support to country teams on accounting and financial matters
• Continuously evaluate, improve and implement best practices in financial management and reporting.

Qualifications

• Educated to a University degree in Accounting or Finance, a postgraduate degree (e.g., RA, CPA ACA or ACCA) is mandatory.
• At least 6 years experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a group controller of an international organization or similar role. Experience in real estate is a plus.
• Strong technical accounting skills including thorough knowledge of IFRS, working experience with other European accounting standards is a plus
• Proficiency in financial consolidation and reporting
• Good understanding of treasury activities
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Fluency in English is mandatory, any other European languages a plus
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Salary

• 100/120 k base bonus benefits
