With the responsibility of different type of products for the Defence Market worldwide, namely military and logistics trucks, multirole and armoured vehicles, the Proposal Engineer report to the Proposal Manager within the Proposal Management Organization of IVECO Defence Vehicles & Astra located in Piacenza Site.


The Proposal Team, in cooperation with the Sales Department, have to develop from a technical prospective the sales opportunities with the aim to get tenders award and purchase orders.


The person we are looking for is specifically engaged in the preparation of winning proposals by managing the development of clear and persuasively written tender documents which are fully compliant with customer requirements and expectations. In additional, she/he clearly define the scope of products and services for each market opportunity and reflects the agreed proposal strategy following well defined proposal preparation procedures.



Main accountabilities & duties:


  • Evaluate customer requirements, pass the relevant information to the Platform or the other functions (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Program Management, CS, Quality etc.) to collect all the information and documents needed to build the proposal;
  • Support the definition of tender strategy by building decision making models (price/scoring/benchmarks);
  • Collaborates within a multi-functional team for proposal preparation (Cost Structure, Technical Descriptions, Delivery Schedule, CS Proposal if applicable and other proposal documents to be submitted to the customer);
  • On spot basis the candidate will participate to fair events, trials, customer presentations or any specific activity that might be useful to develop the knowledge of the market;
  • The candidate also attends meeting with the customers (requirements definition, industry days, technical negotiation, clarifications sessions etc.), main suppliers and partners during all procurement phases.



Requirements for the positions:


  • Energy and Accountability - eager to learn;
  • Italian Mothertongue and Fluency in English - capability to analyze and prepare complex technical documents in English;
  • Capability to establish fruitful long-term relationships with international customers based on professional behavior and trust;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Advanced use of Office suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word) possibly including Project or similar tools;
  • Master Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive Engineering;
  • Nice to have a 3 years of technical/engineering experience in the automotive sector (preferably trucks or heavy equipment) or in a Technical Sales role or equivalent past experience as a member of Platform, Product or Program Management organizations in the automotive sector.
