Job Role:

As a Data Security Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and managing a variety of data security measures to protect sensitive information. Your expertise in data loss prevention, encryption, compliance, threat modeling, and cloud security will be crucial in mitigating risks and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage data loss prevention (DLP) and response strategies to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and breaches.
  • Administer end-point encryption, encryption key management, and key rotation to ensure data security/Azure security across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI and other regulatory requirements related to data security and privacy.
  • Utilize tools such as Purview, KMS, AIP, and data services security controls to monitor and secure data assets.
  • Perform threat modeling and compliance monitoring for data at rest, ensuring adherence to security policies and standards.
  • Implement and manage API security measures to protect data in transit and during integration.
  • Oversee cloud-based data loss prevention, monitoring, and data services security policy and configuration management.
  • Administer Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and ensure effective encryption practices for databases and other data stores.
  • Conduct log analysis and manage Windows and Linux SFTP services for secure data transfer.
  • Develop and implement data observability and identification processes, including discovery, classification, and protection of data assets.
  • Manage blob storage protection, data exposure risk management, and AI/ML risk reduction strategies.
  • Implement process automation to enhance data security and streamline security operations.
  • Stay updated with quantum computing advancements and their implications for data security.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data privacy standards.
  • Manage data archive and retention policies, ensuring proper storage and protection of historical data.
  • Monitor and mitigate insider threats, ensuring the security of sensitive information within the organization.
  • Conduct endpoint discovery and data cataloging to maintain an accurate inventory of data assets.
  • Utilize case management tools and techniques to manage and resolve data security incidents.
  • Strong knowledge of data loss prevention and response strategies.
  • Proficiency in encryption techniques, key management, and key rotation.
  • Experience with PCI compliance and other regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Purview, KMS, AIP, and data services security controls.
  • Expertise in threat modeling and compliance monitoring for data at rest.
  • Understanding of API security, cloud-based data security, and policy management.
  • Knowledge of Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and database security practices.
  • Experience with log analysis and SFTP services on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Proficiency in data observability, identification, classification, and protection.
  • Understanding of data exposure risk management and AI/ML risk reduction strategies.
  • Experience with process automation and its application in data security.
  • Awareness of quantum computing and its potential impact on data security.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and data privacy standards.
  • Experience with data archive and retention policies.
  • Ability to monitor and mitigate insider threats effectively.
  • Proficiency in endpoint discovery and data cataloging.
  • Strong case management skills for handling data security incidents.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in SaaS for search optimization is a plus


Skills & Requirement:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Preferably with minimum 6-9 years of work experience especially in application support, cyber security, Data Security, Azure security or regulatory compliance
