Role: Python Developer

Location: Toronto/Remote

Duration: 6-12 Months

Job Description

  • Python, Django, Flask

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain shared Python libraries, web interfaces, microservices, and databases.
  • Maintain, refactor, improve, and test existing code to reduce technical debt.
  • Proactively help refine and improve the team's development standards and processes.
  • Communicate with team and other production personnel.
  • Develop and test code, debug programs and integrate applications with third-party web services
  • Write effective, scalable server side web application logic
  • Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as Python Developer (comfortable designing APIs and larger application architecture, and attribute development
  • Expertise in at least one popular Python framework (like Django, Flask or Pyramid)
  • Hands-on experience with JupyterHub.
  • Hands-on experience with Java is preferrable (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM)
  • Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
  • Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, and multi-process architecture
  • Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python
  • Strong unit test and debugging skills
  • Strong familiarity with GIT / SVN and collaborative workflows (code review, standards, etc.)
  • Comfortable with Continuous Integration and Deployment tools and procedures
  • Experience working in an agile and international environment excellent time-management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and high level of motivation (self-starter)
  • Ability and willingness to go the extra mile and support the overall team
  • Analytical and problem-solving Skill
  • Good interpersonal skills and willing to be a team player
  • Provide overlap coverage with onsite/customer teams till 9 PM IST"
