Additional Desired Skills
Previous experience in the design and fabrication of vacuum form tooling.
Understanding of vacuum forming manufacturing, and CNC routing.
Familiarity with Mold/Tooling materials (Tooling Board, Urethane, Fiberglass/ceramic etc.).
Preference given to candidates with hands-on CNC pattern design/cutting.
Surface Modeling proficiency in SolidWorks.
5-axis CNC programming with MasterCAM.
College degree in Engineering or similar STEM field.
Essential Functions
Design vacuum forming molds and tooling.
Design tooling for drape forming.
Design any fixtures needed for manufacturing.
CNC programming of molds.
Some additional 3-axis CNC programming for flat CNC production parts.
Create blueprints for the fabrication of tooling.
Provide engineering expertise, guidance, and support for tooling fabrication.
Provide engineering recommendations for tooling design options.
Provide technical expertise for complicated tool repairs.
Work with manufacturing to find opportunities to change or create tooling and fixtures in order to reduce manufacturing costs (VA/VE).
Other duties as assigned.
Reports to the Engineering Manager.
