The Career and Technical Education Supervisor supervises the organization, operation, and coordination of the Career and Technical Education programs as assigned for the Loudoun County Public Schools. In accordance with these responsibilities, the Career and Technical Education Supervisor supervises the coordination of the planning, development, implementation, direction, and assessment of the Career and Technical program as assigned in all Loudoun County Public Schools for grades K-12.
Roles And Responsibilities

Prepares reports, attends School Board meetings, and services on committees as the Assistant Superintendent or Director may request and assists in the preparation of the annual budget of the school system; aligns Career and Technical Education programs vision, mission, and goals with those of the division.
Provides curriculum supervision, professional learning, and coaching to Career and Technical Education teachers in grades K-12 as assigned.
Plans, coordinates, and presents group and individual professional learning activities for instructional personnel as assigned.
Supervises the evaluation of the effectiveness of instructional programs, determines needs, develops plans to meet these needs, and ensures that the CTE programs as assigned are consistent with and follow the guidelines established by the Virginia Department of Education.
Administers resource adoption procedures for specific courses within program responsibilities and develops, coordinates, revises, and edits curriculum for specific courses within program responsibilities.
Collaborates with curriculum leaders and division leadership to ensure student needs and experiences are affirmed and included in the LCPS CTE curriculum as assigned.
Works with other central office personnel when appropriate to provide coordinated instructional services; responds to requests for information and materials from individual teachers, principals, and citizens; directs or assists in directing special projects and programs; coordinates participation by students in local, regional, State and National contests, competitions, and scholarship programs.

Five years of progressive overall education experience in teaching, supervision, administration
Licenses and Certifications
Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in a Career and Technical Education instructional area
Holds or is eligible for the Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in PK-12 administration and supervision
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of state and federal statutes, regulations, and rules relating to instruction, curriculum, student learning and ability to advise interested parties of the provisions of the laws
Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and to meet deadlines
Possesses strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds
Demonstrate the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with administrators and teachers
