IT Support

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for trading applications, responding to inquiries and troubleshooting issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to trading activities.
  • Monitor system alerts and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Collaborate with developers to investigate and debug software defects, documenting findings and implementing solutions as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software upgrades, patching, and configuration changes, following established procedures to ensure system integrity and security.
  • Participate in incident response and problem management processes, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of projects related to system enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, and process improvements, working with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in the financial services industry or a similarly demanding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and messaging middleware (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement, with a strong desire to stay current on industry trends and best practices.
