The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- BS in Poultry Science or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Broiler Breeder Production
- Effective communicator with strong leadership skills
- Experience in Microsoft software is required
- Strategic and conceptual thinker
- Ability to work Flexible Hours including some weekends– on call 24 hours a day
- Must be a Self-Motivator with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Negotiation skills and tact
- Capable of interacting with a broad range of employees and independent contractors
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and implement programs
- Must be able to adapt to changes in a fast paced work environment
- Able to build and nurture relationships with our contract growers and colleagues.
- Achieve standards for Grandparent Flock Performance and Health Status
- Train, develop, and oversee GP Poultry Specialists
- Oversee construction of new GP housing as necessary
- Develop and implement production policies and procedures
- Work with other departments to insure health and quality
- Maintain ISO, bio-security and animal welfare standards
