Position Overview: Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Director of Sales Planning (DSP) is the liaison between field sales and the corporate office. The DSP will represent sales cross functionally throughout the organization, ensuring that growth initiatives are developed, vetted, communicated, and tracked for superior execution. The DSP will lead the Sales Planning cycle and Trade Management initiatives. The DSP will own process, communications, and systems relative to Sales planning and reporting; and lead cross-functional improvements that positively impact the organization. The DSP will ensure plans are financially aligned with the company’s strategic direction and manage plan execution in collaboration with the sales team to achieve short- and long-term company objectives.
Accountabilities
- Lead planning cycle of strategic sales and trade plans
- Collaborates with sales support staff to ensure continuity of day-to-day business activities
- Owns retail price list administration and execution across the Sales department
- Leads the Trade Manager in executing the process to collaboratively maintain database (TPM) for customers, products, sales volume, and promotional activity
- Provides input into the development of guidelines for trade spending with Sales management, including slotting, trade promotions, and non-volume building activities
- Tracks the implementation of Trade guidelines and ensures delivery of expectations
- Leads and directs Trade Management team to maintain allocated spending levels
- Manages business expansion planning, execution, tracking, and ongoing adjustments as needed
- Design, scope, and build innovative solutions that automate business systems or processes
- Quantify results of strategic and tactical objectives to drive decisions based on data
- Supports Customer Account Managers with tools, plans, and reporting to deliver specific objectives against identified strategic initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Trade, Marketing, IT, Finance, Operations, and Demand Planning to directly impact sales
- Create and deliver reporting for business initiatives with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Demand Planning departments
- Convert data into insights and sales plan recommendations
- Track customer product progress towards yearly goals and execution framework targets
- Produce standardized data reports and customer/item-specific custom analysis
- Prepare relevant correspondence for internal and external customers to deliver high-level customer service

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-motivated with goal and objective orientation
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate
- Skilled in using Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Skilled in ERP, TPM, and supporting software
- Skilled in using business intelligence tools and analysis software
- Proficient in using syndicated data: IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, and Consumer Panel Data
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management information systems, finance, or related field
- 7 years of CPG business, sales, or finance analytics experience
- 3 years of trade marketing experience
Location & Compensation
- Remote in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, MN, NC, NH, NY, OR, TX, and WA
- 25% domestic travel
- Salary Range $140,000 $160,000
