Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead in developing process control strategies that would maximize the ROI for our customers.
  • Expert in APC benefits assessment studies to support pre-sales activities.
  • Monitor and tune base-level control loop strategies as needed for the process control and optimization projects.
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced process control strategies.
  • Formulate and execute a step test plan for the independent variables.
  • Develop inferential calculations and develop APC models for online control.
  • Support commissioning and APC controller tuning activities.
  • Lead hands-on customer training.
  • Provide ongoing support and revamp activities to customers.
  • Develop process models as necessary for the process design models using HYSYS, UniSim, Python, MATLAB etc.
  • Learn and understand customer requirements and design a solution using one or more products and/or solutions from various Puffer Business Units (BU).
  • Act as the trusted advisor for our customers and build rapport for long-term strong relationships.
  • Capture quantifiable business results (QBRs) delivered by the deployed solutions.

COMPETENCIES:

Education/Knowledge:

  • S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or equivalent required.
  • PHD. in Chemical Engineering is highly desierable.

Experience/Skills:

  • 8 – 10 years of relevant experience in advanced process control
  • Knowledge and experience with various APC solutions e.g. Aspentech (AspenOne), Honeywell (Profit Controller), Rockwell Automation (Pavilion8), etc.
  • Proven experience with various DCS system integrations e.g. DeltaV, Experion, TDC3000, etc.
  • Experience with data-fitting & regression modeling techniques using tools like AspenIQ, Neural Networks, Excel Regression, etc. is a must.
  • Experience in formulating various LP optimization strategies to drive APC behavior
  • Experience with operator training systems (OTS) and integration of APC with an OTS system is a plus.

  • Willingness and experience working in a manufacturing environment is a must.
