Admissions Associate

General

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with all major departments and divisions to achieve strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain professionalism in dress, speech and manner in adherence to admission department specific criteria.
  • Communicate and deal effectively and in a timely manner with all members of the school community and community at large.
  • Perform in a manner that reflects positively on the school.
  • As a member of the HTEA team, perform all duties as requested by the Director of Enrollment, 7-12.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of the admission process for assigned prospective students and their families including written and phone communication, processing inquiries, gathering data, processing applications, and reviewing academic history.
  • Coordinate in-person campus visits and interviews for new and prospective students including test evaluations as well as any necessary interviews with faculty/ staff.
  • Assist Director of Enrollment with admission events including campus preview days, schoolwide new family welcome events, and other schoolwide events relating to prospective and incoming HTEA students and their families.
  • Provide opportunities for prospective families to connect with current families while in the inquiry and application phase, document processes and conversations.
  • Oversee student ambassadors to match current and new students in their onboarding and transition to the school.
  • Attend admission team staff meetings when requested.
  • Participate in continuing education in relation to Blackbaud training and other relevant professional development.
  • Be fully engaged in the life of the school, including attending chapel and other student life events when available, as well as representing the school in the community.

Other

  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment, 7-12 and the Head of School.
  • From time to time, work hours may extend to evening and/or weekend.

  • Participates successfully in professional learning opportunities available to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.
  • Participates successfully in computer training and/or maintain skills necessary to achieve proficiency of performance responsibilities.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, bend, squat, reach, lift, carry, push or pull light weights.

POSITION PURPOSE: To support admissions activities and enrollment process for mission appropriate students for HTEA. Work with schoolwide admissions team to cultivate prospective students, provide opportunities to learn more about HTEA through programs, and support retention efforts for current students.

POSITION STATUS: 10 months, Part-time, exempt

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree. Must be able to maintain confidentiality, be self-motivated and have a commitment to the mission of the school. Must have excellent people skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, and provide exceptional customer service as a representative of the school.

Applicants should possess sufficient technological skills to become proficient in the school’s learning management/enrollment system. Ability to work with families of diverse backgrounds. Understands independent school culture. Must be dependable and professional. Must take initiative, be self-directed, and exercise good judgment.
