GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provides assistance to the school principal in the operation of the total school program.
Responsibilities
Serve as primary administrator in the absence of the school principal.
Assist in the supervision of the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and non-academic purposes.
Assists in establishing a plan for the improvement of instruction.
Assume responsibility for instructional leadership and effective school management.
Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and effectively implement the Student Code of Conduct.
Assists in planning and supervision of the safe arrival and departure of students as well as the emergency preparedness program, including fire drills, according to state law and division regulations.
Assist with supervision and evaluation of all licensed and classified staff.
Meet and confer with: staff, committees, grade level chairpersons, individual students, parents, and central office personnel.
Assist in the coordination of curriculum related activities and programs.
Qualifications
Holds or is eligible for a valid post-graduate license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision.
Has a minimum of five years of successful full-time experience as a teacher.
Has demonstrated the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, parents and the community.
