Job Title: Thought Leadership Programme Lead


Salary: £21,000 pro rata (£35,000 FTE)


Hours per week: 21

You'll be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester a minimum of 2 days per week (one of which will be a Tuesday). The remainder of your working hours will be undertaken from home.

About The Role

We are recruiting to the exciting new position of Thought Leadership Programme Lead, to join our established and well respected research team. Working closely with the Thought Leadership Manager you will facilitate thought leadership activity within the function. This includes assisting with the coordination of research consultancy work, supporting the management of a cross-industry panel of safety and health experts, as well as collating and delivering insight reports.

This is a varied position with co-ordination being a key focus of the role, whether this is coordinating the mapping and knowledge building against thought leadership topics or facilitating the collation and processing of future research ideas.

This is a pivotal role where your contributions will be instrumental in delivering our strategic priorities and advancing our 5-year strategy, Activate 2028.

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding and experience of the trends taking place in the global world of work and an interest in the ways that people are kept safe, healthy and well at work. Knowledge in the occupational safety and health field or a relatable field is desirable but not essential.

With an inquisitive mindset you will be proactive in generating novel ideas, approaches and ways of seeing things. You must be able to think critically and synthesise large amounts of complex information.

Experience shaping, undertaking, and/or managing research projects and sharing knowledge is essential to the role and prior project management experience is a must.

To succeed in this role you will also have proven experience in producing and delivering outputs to non-academic audiences.

The successful candidate must be educated to degree or level 6 (diploma) level and a postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.

Essential Criteria

  • Numerate, can use statistical techniques and able to present data in different forms
  • Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Proactive in generating novel ideas, approaches and ways of seeing things
  • Able to think critically and synthesise large amounts of complex information
  • Experience of producing and delivering outputs to non-academic audiences
  • Experience of project management
  • Educated to degree or level 6 (diploma) level. A postgraduate qualification would be advantageous
