About the School: An esteemed independent all-through school in Southsea is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN English Teacher to join their team. The school includes a specialized SEN provision housed in a dedicated building, catering to 15 students with learning difficulties. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English to Key Stage 3 and 4 students with learning difficulties. Classes are small, with no more than 6 students, allowing for focused and individualized instruction. Responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging English lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
Developing and implementing individualised learning plans.
Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing regular feedback.
Creating a supportive and motivating classroom environment.
Collaborating with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other staff to provide comprehensive support.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN education.
Specialisation or significant experience in teaching English.
A patient, motivating, and encouraging demeanor.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
